Charlie Bailey says “YES” to Abortion on Demand.

On the possibility of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Charlie Bailey said he would advise the governor and the General Assembly not to curtail a woman’s right “to make her own healthcare decisions”.   If ‘Roe v. Wade’ is Overturned, What Happens in Georgia? by Jonathan Ringel

carr
Chris Carr (R)

Chris Carr says “NO” to Abortion on Demand.

Attorney General Chris Carr joined a 22-state coalition challenging a California law, known as The Reproductive FACT Act. This controversial act requires licensed pro-life pregnancy centers to post signs or distribute notices to all clients that advertise the availability of state-funded abortions. His statement follows:

“California’s Reproductive FACT Act encroaches on the constitutionally protected right of free speech by forcing pro-life organizations to convey an advertisement for state-sponsored abortions.”

Attorney General Carr’s office presented a defense to a 2012 law banning abortions at 20 weeks before the state high court. The argument was based on the premise that the Georgia Constitution “contains no direct language regarding privacy.”

Promo Video – 10 minutes from 40 Days for Life on Vimeo.

From 40 Days for Life Mission Statement:

40 Days for Life is a community-based campaign that takes a determined, peaceful approach to showing local communities the consequences of abortion in their own neighborhoods, for their own friends and families. It puts into action a desire to cooperate with God in the carrying out of His plan for the end of abortion. It draws attention to the evil of abortion through the use of a three-point program:

  • Prayer and fasting
  • Constant vigil
  • Community outreach

The 40-day campaign tracks Biblical history, where God used 40-day periods to transform individuals, communities … and the entire world. From Noah in the flood to Moses on the mountain to the disciples after Christ’s resurrection, it is clear that God sees the transformative value of His people accepting and meeting a 40-day challenge.

Abp Naumann Calls His Fellow Bishops to Be Shepherds in Midst of Crisis

ArchbishopJosephNaumann.png

The incoming chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities, Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas, posted a detailed letter on Friday, August 31, addressing the clergy abuse crisis. He emphasized the repeated failures in accountability of his fellow bishops, the urgent need for transparency at all levels, and an increased commitment to the care for abuse victims. In addition to a call for prayer and penance, he urges the necessity of conversion to and renewal of authentic Catholic teaching on marriage and the priesthood. As bishops, he states, we must “renew our determination to strive to be shepherds who follow the example of Jesus, the good shepherd.”

He reminds us that “our first response to any personal, familial or — in this case — church crisis should be to pray. Be assured that I am not suggesting that is the only thing we need or can do, but I believe it must be our first response. First and foremost, we must pray for healing and comfort for victims. Secondly, this is a moment to pray for the purification of bishops, priests and the entire church.”

Be assured that I am not suggesting that [prayer] is the only thing we need or can do, but I believe it must  be our first response.

In determining the accountability of the bishops and the truth of Archbishop Vigano’s testimony, he states the following:

“It is inconceivable to me that the bishops who were involved with the settlements for McCarrick’s misconduct did not bring these matters to the papal nuncio (the Holy Father’s ambassador to the United States) and the nuncios failed to inform the pope at that time and those who assisted him with the care of bishops.

Just this past week, the former papal nuncio to the United States, Archbishop Carlo Vigano, released a statement that claims he and his predecessors, Archbishop Pietro Sambi and Archbishop Gabriel Montalvo (both now deceased), did inform the respective popes. In my experience of Archbishop Vigano during his tenure as apostolic nuncio, he was a man of integrity. There are also respected sources that are contesting elements of Archbishop Vigano’s statement.

This development makes it even more imperative that we embrace Cardinal DiNardo’s commitment to pursue the truth of why McCarrick was allowed to continue to exercise public ministry and continue in the College of Cardinals, when his sexual misconduct and abuse of power were already known. We must do all that we can to ascertain the truth and then allow the chips to fall where they may.”

We must do all that we can to ascertain the truth and then allow the chips to fall where they may.

His Presence is Real

Thank you, American Life League, for this powerful video. Catholic politicians who support and vote for legislation advocating abortion (or against legal protection of unborn citizens) have placed themselves outside full communion with the Catholic Church. They should be denied communion, period.

Georgia Gubernatorial Race

briankemp   Brian Kemp (R)

From Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Brian Kemp’s website:

KEMP: I’LL SIGN, FIGHT FOR PRO-LIFE LEGISLATION

News

(Athens, GA) – Conservative businessman Brian Kemp is unapologetically pro-life. The father of three teenage daughters, he believes that life begins at conception and every human life is worth protecting. Over the course of the Republican Primary, Kemp detailed his adoption reform proposal and vowed to sign legislation to protect the rights of the unborn. Along the way, Kemp earned praise from pro-life advocates, recognition from the Georgia Life Alliance, and the Family Policy Alliance endorsement. To elaborate on his pro-life positions, Kemp issued the following statement:

“My campaign for governor is built on the promise to put hardworking Georgians first ahead of the special interests, status quo, politically correct, and those that are here illegally. I have a proven track record of fighting – and winning – for our conservative values and a reputation for doing the right thing – even when no one is looking.

As governor, I will significantly move the needle on pro-life legislation in our state and fight against the left to make sure these laws stand. I’ve taken on the Obama Justice Department, Stacey Abrams, and groups funded by George Soros before and I am ready to defeat them again.

I support a ‘Heartbeat Bill’ that outlaws abortions after six weeks. In fact, I am the only candidate for governor to signal support for the bill that was just passed in Iowa. The left calls it radical but it’s just common sense to me. As the father of three, I remember listening to the heartbeats of my girls. We were knitted together in our mother’s womb and protecting His craftsmanship at six weeks is certainly worth the inevitable courtroom battle.

Being pro-life is more than just protecting embryos. That’s why my administration will review the entire Georgia Code to ensures that all life – from conception to natural death is protected and treated equally under the law. By recognizing that an unborn child is a person, we will make it abundantly clear that Georgia values all people – regardless of age, race, mental status, or state or health.

“Finally, as we advance pro-life legislation, battle in the courtroom, and wait on the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, our state must double down on the application of pro-life laws that currently exist. Through the Department of Community Health, we can ensure that the letter – and spirit – of the law is being enforced at clinics across the state. As governor, I will make enforcement a priority.

“We know that my opponent will say one thing and do another – if the price is right. That’s not how I operate. As governor, I will put principles and good policy ahead of politics. I will fight to advance the pro-life movement and defend the unborn at every turn. We must always do the right thing – even in non-election years.”

Lt. Governor Republican

Geoff Duncan.jpg   Geoff Duncan (R)

“President Trump is delivering on his promise that no taxpayer money goes towards funding abortions. I stand with our President and will continue to follow his lead in promoting a pro-life culture in Georgia and across the country.”

And on the other side of the political divide:

staceyabrams2   Stacey Abrams (D)

From Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Stacey Abrams’ website:

Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America

“Stacey Abrams is a true fighter for women and families. She is committed to safeguarding a woman’s right to access abortion and to protecting the freedoms of women and families. As governor, Stacey will look out for women and defend our right to access basic healthcare, including contraception and abortion. She has stood up to partisan attempts to restrict access to healthcare and has always shown the independent, principled leadership that Georgia families deserve. NARAL is proud to stand with Stacey as together we fight for the freedoms of all Georgians.”

Lt Governor Democrat

Sarah Amico is endorsed by Georgia Equality, the largest LGBT rights group in Georgia, the Georgia Stonewall Democrats, and the Georgia Win List.

We have already trained more than 200 women to run for office during 2017 WINning Women Boot Camps and plan an aggressive strategy to “Grab ‘em by the Midterms” in 2018.”

Over 100 Attend Prayer Vigil

20180521_124706.jpg

Over 100 concerned citizens attended an extended prayer vigil held Monday, May 21, at the site of a proposed abortion clinic in Macon. Despite the threat of inclement weather, the peaceful gathering lined the sidewalks at noon to pray silently and sing hymns. Many held signs proclaiming the sanctity of life, the intrinsic evil present in abortion, and the life-affirming alternative of adoption.

Last week, the Macon-Bibb County Planning & Zoning Commission approved a conditional-use permit for the parent company, Summit Medical Centers, to open a planned office at the now vacant, previous site of Macon Medical Center at 833 Walnut Street. According to company sources, the clinic is scheduled to open in 6 months. The Summit Center PC will offer women’s gynecological health services and first-trimester abortion care. In the company’s proposal to the commission, they presented their planned business as a women’s health clinic with no mention of abortion.

The protest marks the beginning of a prolonged effort to oppose the establishment of an abortuary in Macon, a town known for its support of life. Stay tuned for updates from the Saint Maximilian Kolbe Center for Life and the Respect Life Macon team as we unite with the greater Macon community in the following weeks. Urgent Prayer Vigil

pray

Noon

Monday, May 21

833 Walnut St., Macon

It is with much sadness that we report this pressing news.  Monday, May 14, the Macon-Bibb County Planning and Zoning Commission granted Summit Center, PC, authorization to open a medical office at 833 Walnut Street. The Summit Medical Center Group owns abortion clinics in Atlanta and Detroit. In its Atlanta center, abortions are performed through 24 weeks of pregnancy.

In the 45 years since the tragic Supreme Court decision in Roe vs Wade, our community of Macon, Georgia, has been spared from the permanent establishment of an abortuary. Sadly, our time has come to fight this evil on our doorstep and defend life for all our present and future citizens.

Please join us for this urgent prayer vigil.  This effort will be ongoing and will continue until the message is heard loud and clear that Macon is a community that respects life. We will not stand by and allow this evil to spread its poison in our town. Our children’s lives are at stake.

Dedicated volunteers are organizing efforts among the wider pro-life community. We begin with prayer and ask that you spread the word to your friends, family, and acquaintances. If you cannot be with us on Monday, please pray wherever you are for God’s protection over Macon.

God bless you.
